Car sickness

Hi,

Can anyone recommend anything for car sickness in children (age 5)

I know you can buy things over the counter which I intend too but does anyone have any that they have found work really well?

It seems to becoming more frequent and want to try and get ontop of it.

The pressure point wrist bands are good

Hi, I’ve used the travel pressure bands. They look like little sweat bands that go on your wrists, on the inside there is a small plastic ball that has to go on a certain point on the wrist. I used to suffer really badly with travel sickness but I found these worked really good for me. I got mine from the £shop but you can get them from loads of different places. Hope that helps x

Kwells. They can take them from the age of three and are amazing.

Thanks everyone for your replies, I ended up with kwells tablets that you can suck or chew 30 mins before a journey and they have been great so far! X

Travel pills from the pharmacy should work if you use them correctly. You often need to take them some time before travel and they're ineffective if you don't.
I listened to a radio programme about travel remedies recently and the conclusion was that the pills work if taken as per the instructions

I find my son is worse with an empty stomach so make sure they have a substantial meal about 30 mins you set off.

I suffer from travel sickness, as have all three of my children (although it has got better for some of them as they have got older). Personally I have not found the bands very effective, but I would also agree with other posters re: Kwells and also travelling on a (medium) full stomach. Be careful to not eat a full meal immediately before you go, in case it comes back! As pp said, 30 min digestion time is good. I like the Kwells because there is only a 20 minute lead in time, whereas some of the others need much longer.
Also tend to travel with a ziplock bag and some wipes and when they were smaller, spare clothes, just in case!
