Any ideas what this might be?

Hi all

If a child has ‘slightly high infection markers’ (according to doctor) in their urine sample what might that mean/ indicate? No other signs of a urine infection. That was from a dipstick test and it’s being sent to the lab for analysis. Waiting for the results but stressing out in the meantime.

Daughter is 4 and, whilst she seems fine some of the time, she’s been complaining of tummy pain which is getting worse, and more recently weight loss, blurred vision, headaches, dark circles under eyes, and increased tiredness.

Has he checked her blood sugar?

This. These are symptoms of type 1 diabetes so worth checking out.

My Dd had those symptoms (similar age too) and she was actually coeliac. Coeliac disease, when untreated, can cause a higher risk of urinary symptoms due to the gluten proteins in urine which can trigger an inflammatory reaction in the bladder wall causing symptoms of urinary frequency, urgency, pressure and/or pain. I would insist on a blood test to rule it out and also to check everything else is ok.

Thanks all. She has blood tests next week (including for coeliac), which despite me asking, they have refused to bring forward. Beyond that and the urine test, nothing else has been done despite multiple GP visits and a trip to urgent care.

Could it be diabetes if she doesn’t have the extreme thirst and increased weeing?
