Sorry if this is the wrong thread to post this, didn’t know which one was appropriate 🙃
My girls due her second set of jabs tomorrow (the 12 week one but we’re about 3 weeks late ) I know it’s the same really as 8 week one but there’s the pneumococcal vaccine this time round on top of the boosters . What can I expect please with these ones I’m dreading it the squeals of her broke my heart last time 😭😭

Give your head a good shake, to start with. You'll be passing on all your stress to her. You're not doing her any favours

Awww it's really tough isn't it. But they are so young they get over it really quickly after a few cuddles.
My two were under the weather for 2 or 3 days afterwards (although some kids aren't affected) I think it might be the rotovirus one that gives them a funny tummy and some awful poos for a bit but nothing that can't be managed with a couple of quiet days and some calpol.
Good luck x

If you are anxious, don't show it to your baby.
They don't really know what's happening, and it's over before they realise it and start crying.

found them easier than the first ones as we knew what to expect, and were on top of all medication better than the first time.

I’m obviously anxious yes but I try my best for her and won’t stress her I’m just thinking about after in regards to how she may be

The second ones are easier than the first and third as they have the menB in them and of the newborn set of vaccines this is the one most likely to trigger a temperature and feeling a little off for a day or so.

My daughter had a bad reaction to the menB at 4 months and this was 3 days of continuous inconsolable screaming and another another couple of days of feeling off. In the grand scheme of things a bad reaction that's over in 5 days isn't so bad. The first 24h were hard when we didn't know what was going on and had a HV, 3 GP and paeds appointment in 8h.

Deep breath, smile and you'll be fine

Rude. Give YOUR head a wobble.

Bit harsh!

My boy had his 12 week jabs Friday just gone and these have been so much worse than the first lot, hasn't been for a poo and is just so miserable in general:( I thought these lots would be okay as they don't have the men b but it's left me dreading the 16 week already! Hope your little one did okay after theirs♥️

Green44 · 26/01/2025 18:38

Round here it’s the case that the second lot is much worse than the first lot - up to a week of inconsolable, upset babies due to the rotavirus! It seems to have hit them all much harder than the first set. The good news is that the 16 week ones were fine.
