Anyone made their own nit deterrent spray?

So have you made your own spray?

How often did you use it?

Did it work? I don't really want to shell out on the oils if they don't work

What did you put in it as every recipe seems different?

Not made my own OP, but I mix water and the Vosene spray together and so far (touch wood) no nits! I use about 1/4 vosene and 3/4 water

Do you spray it on everyday?

Turkish lemon cologne. Not need to make it. Buy it and put in a spray bottle or buy a spray bottle but it's not as cost effective as buying it that way.

@cosypompoms - yes, every morning I spray it on and comb it through, it's dried by the time we get to school

My youngest has curly hair, so he gets a squirt from some curl refresher, which I've watered down a bit and added a good few shakes of tea-tree oil..

But he also has his hair tied back (all the kids with long hair do) do minimise the risk of catching anyway, so I'm not sure if it's working particularly or not (he's had nits 3 times in his life, although one of those was caught outside of school when his hair was loose)
