Warning !!! Poo picture

Hi everyone . On and off for over a month now ds (11 months) has been suffering with really bad nappies full off jelly like slime.
at first I thought it was phlegm, as ds has sufferered a lot with being chesty and has been sent to hospital etc for this. He would get better for a few days then the slimes poos would be back. These could be complete water with slime , or mushy full of slime. start of December he had a sickness bug, and then throughout December he occasionally was sick unsettled and had slimes poos.
doctors just said have dioralyte incase he dehydrated.

Hes continued having these poos with mucus in them. I’m wondering if it could be teething, an intolerance or an infection. He’s full of wind all day and unsettled with this

sorry for the tmi pictures

Would anyone take them to go for this?

This looks like potential food intolerance IMO if it's been going on this long. What have you introduced a month ago with some regularity?

Any other symptoms?

What milk do you use?

Is he otherwise well, no recent illnesses?

Do you run a food diary for him?

Eagtess3 · 22/01/2024 00:17

weve started to introduce cows milk occasionally.

hes normally been on cow and gate formulas.
weve been trying to identify his foods but it’s not consistently everyday where his nappies are bad.

hes been very chesty since he was around four months old but these jelly nappies are only in the last month or so. As before I put it down to the mucus on his chest.

the other symptoms he has are that he is full of wind, his farts are so bad they stink.

im debating taking him to the go. But my go is very judgemental and I’m worried they will say he’s teething and send me away .
thankyou @PurplePansy05

That's why you need a food diary OP, to show the GP that the teething or illness might not be the reason.

My DS occasionally had mucusy poo when he was poorly, had s gastro-virus or when he was teething, but it wasn't for a prolonged period of time, 2-3 days maximum I'd say.

Occasionally they can develop a temporary lactose intolerance after an illness. Could you try him on a lactose free diet and milk for a week and see if it clears?

I managed to get an appointment at the doctors and have given a stool sample in. I’m keeping a food diary this week to see if there are any changes x
