Cold treatments - especially at night

Hi All,

My LO has constant (or seems it) colds, it's her first winter and she's in nursery, so I'm not entirely surprised!

I've tried:
Snufflebabe rub on her chest
Calpol plugs (these seem to keep dying on me too quickly and costing a fortune)
Snufflebabe drops in a bowl of warm water (doesn't last the night)
Baby olbas oil on a tissue (doesn't last the night)
Raising part of the cot (she rolls / turns round / sits up so often finds this the other side to where she started!)

None of these are really cutting it. I keep thinking a diffuser with one of the baby oils in it, but I don't really want to add more moisture to the room as it's already fairly moist and worried for mould, etc.

Am I missing something, or do you have any other suggestions? Our radiators are usually covered in clothes (shock, horror) so putting a damp cloth on her with oil doesn't really work.

I've seen the Vicks waterless pad diffusers, but thinking I'm just swapping the calpol plug for another.

Many thanks!
Dayna

Are you using Calpol/ibuprofen? How old is she?

Old-fashioned Vicks ointment on the soles of her feet, worked a treat when DS was tiny.

She's nearly 12 months old, and yes using Calpol / Nurofen, seems to be most nights but try not to give it her all the time..!

Ah, the feet is a good shout - Snufflebabe rub will basically be the same won't it? I'll try that next! Thanks!
