Red cheeks

DS is 4 and in reception. Since coming home from school today he has very red cheeks. He hasn't had a temperature or any other symptoms that you might associate with slapped cheek disease (aside from being tired and grumpy but that's pretty standard after school unfortunately), and he is long past the teething stage.

He had his first forest school session this afternoon and it is very cold here, so I guess it could be wind burn.

Any other suggestions?

My daughter is prone to red cheeks the magic formula seems to be a slightly snotty nose and going out in the cold. She wipes the snot from her nose irritating her check and then she goes outside and it's bright red and she looks like a clown.

Hydromol is the best thing we have found for it which is like a thicker version of vaseline
