Wondering if anyone can help my 8 month old baby has diarrhoea for over a week it’s got to the point where she is having loose stools after every bottle or food we’ll over 10 nappies a day we have sent of stool samples but I feel like it’s going to come back with nothing iv tried diarolite all the other tricks she has had no temperature and is otherwise well In her self she is also on neocate formula from 8 weeks so it can’t be a dairy problem I feel like I’m hitting a brick wall surely it cannot be healthy to poo after everything she eats I’m tempted to take her through to a and e just to see if I can get some answers gp is no help at all

Do you have an HV?

No that I’m aware of since she was younger ?

I thought HV’s advised for the first year (may have changed post Covid)

If you still have their number (red/yellow book) I’m sure they could advise if GP is unhelpful.

Hey sorry to jump on your thread, did you get any answers?
Im having the same issue with my 8mo. I’m sure it’s a reaction to dairy or soya which I had accidentally eaten last week, but it’s been 3 days now and she’s still pooping after every feed/meal.

Hi she ended up being admitted into hospital for 3 days it got so bad her sugars was really low they put it down to gastroenteritis and malabsorption as it had gone on so long even when we left she was near enough the same it took 3 weeks for her to get back to normal it the only thing they advised is to introduce more solids to help bind her stomach which we did

I think the main thing is to keep them hydrated they gave her dioralite for 2 days in syringes as she refused to drink it but I’m not a health care professional so I think if you are worried mayby see your gp and ask for advise as like they say babies can get dehydrated very fast the signs they told me to look out for mainly is lethargy sleepiness not wetting nappies but it is hard to tell especially if they have Diarrhea my little one got very sleepy and pale so we took her to a and e and she was admitted
