Paediatric dentists west London?

Hi,
My DC has been referred to a private children's dental clinic (which is very expensive) for sedation. The dentists I've been to refuse to do local anaesthetic as DC is too young (the cavity is deep).
I don't understand this as I thought they do gel first then a little bit of needle then when that's kicked in the rest of it (my family's experience with my nephews abroad).
I've googled but can anyone recommend any paediatric dentists who would do that?

We had a good experience at a practice called Mr Dentist in Golders Green (with Dr Kaufman). He used nitrous oxide which made the process bearable and he has a very good bedside manner. Call to check specific requirements though.

It depends on which tooth , how old your child is and how co operative . The injection can be a problem for some but there is also a fair bit of noise and vibration from drills which some find difficult to tolerate.

Also if the cavity is very deep , depending on whether it is a baby or adult tooth , further more complex treatment may be needed eg taking the tooth out , or capping it or root treatment .

Nitrous Oxide is sedation , you do not use injected sedatives on young children as it has unpredictable results.

Any dentist would want to assess how cooperative the child is likely to be first , before using nitrous oxide and try to build a trusting relationship.

You can be referred for NHS community treatment if your child is likely to be uncooperative but waiting lists can be very long (2 years local to me) and if the cavity is deep the child may end up loosing the tooth.

The main thing is to make the diet and lifestyle changes necessary to ensure that no more teeth need treatment.

Hi thank you for your replies. Thank you @Lollygaggle when I say injection I mean the anaesthetic not the injected sedatives
