Hello,
The past few days, my son's been a little irritable and clingy, as well as not sleeping very well overnight and being very reluctant to be put down. He's also been straining/grunting a lot (to the point where his throat sounds a little sore), but nappies are all normal.

At 9pm (9th), I noticed he had a temperature of 38.5°C so gave a dose of Calpol, and half an hour later it had gone down to 38°C. I gave him another dose at 2am (10th) as he couldn't stay asleep once put down in the cot. I've resorted to holding him as he sleeps for now. I intend to check his temperature again in the morning.

Any ideas? I'm a first time mummy so I'm really not sure, just worried for my baby. My mother in law seems to think it's teething as he has also been rosy in the cheeks and has been drooling EVERYWHERE

Thank you so much in advance!

Has babies temp gone down with calpol?

I would ring 111 for advice tonight

Could be his throat that's swollen and sore. Keep an eye on his temp and how he is in himself, it's tough when they're so little.

I often found ibuprofen works better - try and space doses of ibuprofen and Calpol so that you aren't left with a big gap where there's nothing you can give.

Make sure he's staying hydrated with normal nappies and not a sunken soft spot etc.

Also this is handy
