Night time vomit strange timing

Just incase anyone has any indication of what this could be.

DS 3 almost 4 years old, has been puking once every 48 hours almost bang on the clock.. like 1st night 10.45pm, 3rd 11.20pm and 5th 11.30 pm. None of these nights he’s went to bed at the same time nor eaten the same foods that he hadn’t had on non puking nights.

Hes absolutely fine during the day, no temperature, very slight cough as the night gets later which eventually turns to the gag and single proper puke.

So far only when he’s asleep, one n done, still half asleep and wants to sleep immediately after. He’s nonverbal so can’t give any clues we’re 3 weeks post op on adenoids n grommets so we haven’t really been anywhere either.

Not a HCP, but could be GERD?

The symptoms/reactions you describe as exactly as one of my brothers had before medication.

@Trez1510 I did wonder if it could be something like that he had reflux as a baby but I’m now wondering were the adenoids blocking/keeping him up enough to stop it coming up. Just as he’s finally ok to go back to nursery we’re back in limbo

If it is GERD or similar your GP should be able to diagnose and prescribe quickly. From how my brother described it, it sounded a miserable condition. Since he's been on the medication he sleeps full nights, no longer has the evening cough/throat clearing and no longer fears choking.

Your biggest hurdle now is likely being able to secure GP appointment. Good luck 🤞

You aren’t kidding, they’ve nothing left this year and can’t book for next yet. Going to call round a few of the teams he’s under see if any of them can rock the boat as that’s weeks waiting

Is he coughing when he lies down that is persistent enough to cause him to vomit?

Does he have a post nasal drip? Gross I know but if you open his mouth and look at the neck of his throat you can see it.

@NonanteNeuf he only coughs just as he’s being sick like one or two before the gag, no mucous in it like we’ve had before when snots been the culprit. So bizzare it’s just the once on opposite nights, tried the humidifier, vapo plug and vick just incase any of them could work some magic.
