DS (11) keeping foreskin pulled back

Long time lurker but finally prompted to post.

After football last weekend, my DS(11) was covered in mud so I told him to strip off at the washing machine and chuck his kit straight in.

He ended up stripping off entirely so I saw everything! But I couldn't help but notice that the head of his willy was almost entirely exposed. He's not circumcised and I never saw it at all when he was younger so I'm pretty sure he's chosen to keep his foreskin pulled back.

Is there anything to be concerned about here and should I advise him against doing this? I'm just slightly anxious that keeping the head out like that might cause him issues. I'm more surprised he's able to run around with it like that more than anything 😅

Keeping it out, or he pulled it back and it’s stuck like that? you need to find out and, if stuck, he need to see a Dr asap.

Tmi but maybe he likes the friction of it exposed against his clothes... Cagey ground discussing it without him dying of embarrassment op.... Leave it a few days and ask him if he is OK down there.. Keep it simple and light hearted..
*dm of 8 ds's....

I'm 99% sure it's not stuck behind the head (paraphimosis?). It looked like his foreskin was loosely wrapped around the base of his head rather than behind it but I can't be sure. I'll ask him when he's home from school.

Not tmi at all haha! I was thinking that might be the case. I know how sensitive it can be for some boys down there. We have a pretty easy going relationship when talking about all things puberty so I'll just check with him.

I don't think it's voluntary, I think if you pull it back.it doesn't stay like that.

@jayf2345 sounds more like a paraphimosis than a phimosis . can he pull it back down? this condition can actually be an emergency. he needs to see a doc now if the foreskin wont go back down over the tip of the penis.

My son (14) has never been circumcised however he is like this too. He had torsion about 9 months ago now so I didnt obviously see till then. I asked at hospital at the time and they didnt seem concerned. His gland is always out and hasn't caused him any issues I know of to date. Maybe your son is the same and its just way his body is changing however I guess he is a bit young for it to be the way it is

Thank you for your advice. I've checked with him and it's definitely not paraphimosis, and his foreskin freely moves up and down over his head.

He explained that he always pulls his skin behind his head before getting dressed so it's voluntarily, and that it "moves forward a bit" after a while. I know some men are like this naturally but it just shocked me he chooses to be like that. This isn't going to cause long term harm, is it?

More tmi but my exh was always 'on show'.. Current dh isn't. Guess depends size /shape and state of the penis and foreskin. Maybe ds is having a maturing phase and it's starting to take on its new appearance....? Wouldn't be too worried..

As long as his willy isn’t sore or that it doesn’t look red, chances are it should be ok I think? Not much different then to a person who has a circumcised willy at that point I assume. Maybe tmi but he might like the feeling on his clothes?
