Snap, crackle and pop, the sound of my dd getting put of bed

I have a healthy dd aged 14. She is just 5ft tall, has always been petite, and I expect may have stopped growing.

Her cracking joints, basically any bone including jaw downwards are getting on her nerves. She's not in any pain but her friends and family comment how often her joints pop.

Is this anything I need to talk to the GP about?

I would get her checked out as it can be, but not always, a sign of arthritis. She might need specific exercises. It's called crepitus. I first knew mine was a problem when I woke my toddler up just by walking up the stairs. The noise!!! Blush

Crepitus usually is not a cause for concern. In fact, most people’s joints crack or pop occasionally, and that is considered normal. But if crepitus is regular and is accompanied by pain, swelling, or other concerning symptoms, it may be an indication of arthritis or another medical condition.

Does she have hypermobile joints?
My DD is hypermobile and has always been extremely 'crunchy' – she used to crunch when I picked her up as a baby!

Yes hypermobility can be a cause as a PP says. It presented in both my family members around that age too

It may not be anything to worry about. Teenagers do tend to crack and pop all over the place. I certainly used to every time I moved, my teenage boyfriend always used to laugh at me, but I haven’t had any major ill effects. I’m a bit double jointed and quite bendy but I wouldn’t class myself as hypermobile.
