2.5yr old reflux & hypotonia

My little boy has hypotonia which has caused reflux since he was born. Even now he's 2.5yrs old and when eating his meals he gags and sometimes food comes back up. This is totally normal for him, I'd say that at least 5 days out of 7 he's vomits a little bit after eating, or sometimes after eating BF too much simply leaning forward while playing can make some food come back up. He is unbothered.

He started at nursery in September, only two days a week, but he's been sent home for "vomiting" at least once every other week since he started. They've just called me again, it's their policy we have to go and get him.

None of the other times they've sent him home has he actually had a bug, it's just his reflux. Im now getting so annoyed every time they send him home, such a waste of money! And I'm heavily pregnant and it's the only break I get him being at nursery.

I'm sure when he's a bit sick it's his reflux, it's not like he's projectile vomiting or is crying and upset them vomits. But what can I do? I understand it's the policy, but it happens almost daily at home so is normal for him and us.

We're strapped for cash as it is I hate the waste of money, and it's left me in tears this morning as I only dropped him off two hours ago, now I've got to go and get him.

My daughter has allergies and reflux although silent so is very rarely sick. Our nursery will keep her in nursery for symptoms that are related to her allergies, reflux and toddler diarrhoea. She doesn't get set home every time she has a loose poo which I know some nurseries do. It is a big relief! Both of our nurseries have done this without documentation from doctors so it's absolutely possible for them to take things into account. Are there any other nurseries available?

Can you get a letter from doctor?
Has he ever been seen by a speech therapist regarding the eating? They also do feeding clinics and it would sound like it may be worth them observing him eating/ drinking if he's being sick or gagging that often. They will then also be able to provide guidance for the nursery too which would be helpful and should also prevent them sending him home for 48 hours after vomiting on reflux/food.

Thank you! I think I will bring it up with them, we have a meeting with the HV and the SENCO person in a couple of weeks and the HV was understanding when I spoke before about his reflux so hopefully she can help
