My daughter (just 12 last week) had bright red blood after she wiped this evening. I tired to call the GP but it was near 5pm and they were not keen to see her. They just said call back on Monday.

I have been googling all night and found this website. I have put sudercream on to see him that helps i couldn't seen anything hanging out so i am guessing its not hemorides.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Good to hear, @ShaunaM! Do they know what caused the bleeding yet? X

ShaunaM · 11/09/2023 22:35

They don’t know why it’s happened at the moment

How is your daughter doing @ShaunaM? I hope you have answers and she is now on the mend

ShaunaM · 13/09/2023 09:55

She’s home and on the mend. They suspect she has Crohn’s or an ulcer. They have referred us to see someone at a London Children’s Hospital next week.

she’s doing well still slow but good thank you. All she wants to do is have a bubble Bath

really glad to hear your daughter is on the mend and thank you for keeping us updated 🥰

Songbird74 · 13/09/2023 13:48

Bless her socks, glad she’s on the mend x

rainbowstardrops · 13/09/2023 14:31

Oh bless her. Glad she's getting some help now.

pepino · 13/09/2023 18:05

Bless her. IBD isn't great, but with the right treatment she will be able to live a normal life. I have colitis, was diagnosed at 30 after being ill since I was a child.

Your daughter will be absolutely knackered for a while, so lots of rest will do wonders.

Remmy123 · 13/09/2023 21:48

Hope your daughter is ok I'm glad they saw her quickly and didn't fob her off - my son had IBD and passed blood it's v scary to see - sending hugs x

I would like to second what remmy has said

My daughter was diagnosed with crohns age 12. Once treatment started 5 years ago she has had an amazing normal active life for theatre 5 years.

Wishing you and your daughter all the very best.

Lbet · 14/09/2023 11:18

That should say for the last 5 years.
