A bit sore where skin has come off but not athletes foot I don't think? Not itchy or in-between toes

Take some photos and pop down to the pharmacist. Looks like soggy trainers (trench foot) to me. I’d wash it and gently exfoliate, then rub oil on and repeat every couple of hours. I would bin the shoes or soak them then wash and dry them if you can. Bare feet for a couple of days.

No to antibiotics. Not sure about removing skin as some of it is quite thick and don't want to make it sore just before the new school shoes go on!

@ Ohthatsabitshit
That sounds a good idea. I'll pop down there tomorrow
Can take more photos whilst he's sleeping in 😂

Apparently it is likely to be a vitamin deficiency (B?) according to the chemist
Definitely not infected or athletes foot...

I had that for a year after getting covid. It itches like fuck and then suddenly stopped peeling - my foot then had tiny red spots all round where the sole and main foot meet. These itched too. Then suddenly as it started it disappeared. But I was left with Beaus lines on my big toenail.

The last beaus line has almost disappeared ( growing out) but I have been diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis since with psoriatic arthritis being one of the usual suspects.

My son had this. It just sorted itself out when bare feet season came round

Ohthatsabitshit · 31/08/2023 15:47

Oh poor boy! Hopefully Drs can sort it fairly quickly then

It looks very similar! But no painful cracks in skin, it's literally shedding. However the areas affected tied in with this. The pharmacist barely looked at it, and just said it's a vitamin deficiency (b)

I had something very similar to this when I was a kid. I could literally peel the whole of my sole off. It only happened when I wore socks with non leather shoes.

So strange, I had this exact thing at about 13 - 14, it was just like dry skin but really peely in big chunks, it never smelled weird or looked fungal and just went away!

No advice but if definitely did just go away and didn't turn into anything awful, might be worth getting some keratalysing cream though to help clear it up if the GP says it's nothing bacterial or fungal.
