Persistent low grade fever in 4 year old

Please could I ask if anyone has any experience with this?

Backstory is that my daughter has had a run of bad health, this latest flare up beginning at end of June with a nasty cough which turned into tonsillitis then an ear infection. She has to date since end of June had 10 days penecillin, 5 days amoxicillin and last weds finished a 2 week course of co-amoxiclav. Since Friday she has been running an on off fever, not really spiking above 39 and has been very up and down. I consulted GP on Friday as she had mouth ulcers as well which said on co-amoxiclav leaflet that mouth ulcers and fever are a serious side effect of the antibiotics and needs medical attention as it could be a sign of low white cell count but as she generally seems well in herself apart from the fever the GP doesn't seem concerned. Today she seems worse, fever still not going away and more downs than ups.

Has anyone else had experience of this after a long course of strong antibiotics?

Update. It's now day 6, my daughter took a turn for the worse yesterday and spiked high temps of 39.9 overnight.

We took her into A&E today and she had bloods taken, she has an elevated CRP level of 70 but no obvious source of infection, ears and throat ok and chest sounds clear although she still has this rattly wet cough. She is complaining of headache, sore neck, and is vomiting - she has not kept anything down today, not even water.

We have been sent away from the hospital without antibiotics and to keep an eye and bring her back if she gets worse.

I've never seen her so ill before and my gut is telling me to take her back.

I think, as her parent you know her best. If you are worried I would definitely take her back.
