Nasal speech.. what is causing it ??

It's becoming increasingly noticeable to me, that my daughter (aged 4, nearly 5) is not speaking properly.
At first I noticed when she was unwell with tonsillitis early this year. She seemed to talk as if she was congested. But I put it down to her enlarged tonsils, and snotty nose from numerous nursery colds.
It has not gone away!
I've been basically studying how she speaks and trying to correct, which has been working to some extent, she is pronouncing certain words better, but only when the words are isolated. If she is saying a sentence, or trying to speak to people, her words are really muffled as if she has a blocked nose, but it is not blocked!
From what I can see, she is mouth breathing, and she is not using her nose for air whilst speaking, hence she sounding congested.. she is not using that part of her face to speak with.
I don't know what is causing it. Google says enlarged adenoids...
Has anybody else had any experience with this ??
Thank you in advance.

She needs to see the GP. It could be blocked ears, adenoids etc
Im assuming she doesn’t have allergies that could cause it ?

No allergies no. I was considering the GP, but also considered waiting until she starts school in September, and speaking with teachers after a month or 2 and seeing whether it is something they have noticed too, or whether I'm going mad !

I’d be going to the GP before she starts school

@DustyLee123 Please can I get your reasoning as to why?

Because the sooner you get her seen, the sooner she gets referred , if necessary.
She may have some trouble with her hearing, that you haven’t noticed yet, which won’t help in the class room.

@DustyLee123 Thank you, I will be making an appointment ASAP in that case. Hearing didn't really cross my mind! She is very prone to colds which does usually affect her ears

My daughter speaks like this. She’s 6. Recently been diagnosed as partially deaf and we are now awaiting a date for surgery to have grommets, and for her to have adenoids and tonsils taken out.

Definitely get her seen soon, my son waited nearly 18 months for a speech and language appointment so it's worth getting any referrals done ASAP.
