9mo frequently projectile vomiting. help!

Lots of backstory but not sure how much is relevant, we've had a catalogue of issues in our nine months ... tongue tie, reflux, chronic constipation etc etc. Feels like we have tried absolutely everything to help and had a couple of better months, but the last four weeks the projectile vomiting is back 😥
It doesn't happen every day, probably more like 4-5 times a week. It is very often after having a bottle (cow and gate comfort milk) but other than that there doesn't seem to be any pattern or anything obvious causing it.

It's obviously not a pleasant experience (for either of us, or the carpets!!!) but there's nothing that makes me suspect an allergy or illness causing it.

Any ideas? Google is not being helpful!

Has this been investigated? Could be an allergy or it could be mechanical, pyloric stenosis, but that's usually younger babies so could just be allergy - needs checking though so do see the GP and explain how long it has been going on --- video if possible

My dc's projectile vomiting was indeed because of allergies. It took months to get diagnosed. But if you see the regular pattern, like you say it often happens after having certain things, just stop it.

My dc also had chronic illness that needed surgery. That caused vomiting too. But they were completely different.

You need to get your dc seen by the specialist.

We saw a top paediatrician about the reflux (privately) in the early days and he was sure that it wasn't allergy related (seem to remember he said because of DC having clear skin and also having had more settled patches). I switched to the comfort milk regardless and did actually see an improvement with the constipation straight away but it's hard to know whether it was a coincidence!
Whenever I've seen the GP they always seem to brush off my concerns, DC looks healthy and is a good size and is generally a happy kid...
Video is a good idea, will try and get one next time.

It's just happened again :( I think I will call the doctors first thing in the morning. REALLY hope they take me seriously! Have a feeling that I'll be told as DC isn't generally unhappy or unwell then it's probably something they will grow out of 😔

You sound disappointed about the possibility that it might be something that resolves by itself with time. Is there a specific serious condition you're worried about?

Snoopey · 13/08/2023 22:35

Possibly Cyclical vomiting syndrome (CVS)? - contact.org.uk/conditions/cyclical-vomiting/ -

Thanks all who made helpful suggestions:)
Little update, just in case it is useful to anyone with similar a problem! I rang the GP and they wanted to check DC over, so we went in today and I was confident that the doctor did check really thoroughly. Pyloric stenosis was their main concern but that was ruled out. Dr agreed it's strange to have such forceful regular vomiting so she is going to speak to the paediatric team to see if they recommend dairy exclusion or anything else. She did reiterate that DC doesn't present the typical symptoms of having an allergy so it seems unlikely. Will update when I hear back further!
