Any tips for chickenpox?

DD has just come down with chickenpox and is feeling a bit miserable.
Any tips for making the next few days more bearable for her? It's mainly itching, not being able to sleep along with the occasional headache and vomiting episode.

Put oats in a sock and hold it under the water when running a bath. The water really helped soothe the itching for a while. Also, Poxclin was the best we found for itching. It's pretty miserable so we just let DD eat and do whatever she wanted for a few days.

Definitely second the oats in a sock and a lukewarm bath. Really soothing and helped our kids loads with the itching. If they don’t want to get into a bath then you can just really soak the sock and dab it onto the worst bits.

That, and obscene amounts of ice cream should get you through the worst. Good luck!

Pox clin worked the best for us; I got it on overnight delivery from boots

Calamine lotion in a tepid bath.

Calamine lotion dabbed on individual spots.

Try piriton syrup as it's supposed to help with the itching

we don't have a bath but might try dabbing.
We weren't sure whether to let her eat junk because of the vomiting but ice cream would be ok coming back up if she gets another bout of nausea.
She has unlimited access to screens and you tube / netflix seems to be a good distraction from the itching.

We have the pox clin and are keeping it in the fridge for extra relief.
I know she can't have neurofen but will a dose of calpol be ok?

Yes she can have calpol
I remember giving dd a damp cloth to hold against itchy spots. She also had piriton antihistamine to help with itching
