Didn’t really know what to call this I need to advise if anyone else’s child has had this It’s been going on for a month now.

On 17th June my daughter (age 2) came out in some blisters just dotted around, mainly on her torso area only one of the back of her leg. I thought it was chicken pox a few days later she didn’t develop any more and they started to get bigger and sore so rang the doctors over the phone appointment they said it was infected insect bites got given liquid antibiotics… they eventually healed but they’ve left a smooth brown patch where they all was.
Then on the 3rd of July she got one on her arm (this is the worst one) same thing happened with that started as a blister got bigger and bigger took her to the doctors again in person this time they said it’s either ring worm or discord eczema got given some cream like a steroid and antibiotic in one . A week later the cream wasn’t doing anything and she got 2 more blisters so took her back and this doctor said he had no idea what they are and was going to speak to a skin doctor now I’m just waiting back from them got a appointment on Monday, he gave me a antibiotic and a steroid cream to use for a week on her arm whist we wait but she’s got more blisters now that are starting to get bad like the other ones .
I’m so upset her body just looks a mess and I just want answers to what it is.
can anyone help????

Sorry, me again! When my Dd was small she had eczema which would flare up horribly with staphylococcus being referred to by Dr. Dr advised the use of Hibiscrub all over for a few weeks to kill bacteria living on the skin while treating eczema patches separately. Worked a treat and even now if she gets those little red spots on the back of the knee I use Hibi for a few days just so her itching wouldn’t break the skin and let in the bugs.

@HairyFeline im just confused why she keeps getting new blisters in random places I thought you only can get impotigo when you’ve got a open cut for the infection to go in?

Pretty sure it spreads around the body, popping up all over. I’d ask the GP direct or the pharmacy but in my experience they always say up to GP!

@HairyFeline I’m surprised the doctor hasn’t suggested that one

Hi @Lauren8642 did you get to the bottom of this? We are experiencing something similar-ish with our 6 year old daughter. 2 spontaneous large blisters that have come 1 year apart. I put a post up earlier with all the details. Not quite the same as yours but same in the sense that it’s proving to be a bit of a mystery for the doctors and others in dermatology at Alder Hey. We thought it was a one off but this 2nd has us worried that there is something else going on. Possibly an autoimmune condition or something. Still lots of investigations going on with bloods and swabs etc so bit of a waiting game and trial and error but just wondering if you got any answers? It’s scary not knowing when or where they are going to appear and frustrating that there isn’t much out there that matches our experience to get any clear explanation. Hope they have cleared up and she is well now?
