Immunisations

Hey,

I'm new here and looking for likeminded/non tin hat wearing people to talk about my worries with.

My rainbow baby is currently 3 months old. We've just had the second batch of immunisations. He is perfectly normal and fine within himself. However his skin has little test spots on it, on his thighs, his torso and his bum cheeks. Almost light heat rash without the itchiness.

I'm probably over thinking it so much because I lost my first son when I was 6 months pregnant in 2021 due to contracting covid and my placenta not being able to fight off the virus, ultimately taking my unborn son from me. So every scratch, rash, cough or sneeze. Has me on edge and I spend hours googling stuff that doesn't help 😭.

If anyone else experienced this please let me know to Atleast put my mind at ease.

Thanks,
Abby

What soap powder/softner do you use ?
Do you always wash new clothes/bedding/towels ?

Abby90 · 15/07/2023 21:21

I use the fairy non bio pods and comfort, I've washed all his clothes with that.

Yeah everything gets washed before he wears it, bedding is changed twice a week. Clothes daily (multiple!). I've changed nothing in his routine. Same bath stuff & moisturiser.

After his bath tonight I didn't put any moisturiser on, just so his skin was able to breathe abit.

It's just weird because he's completely fine within himself & feeding the same.

Possible viral rash as a response to the vaccine
As long as he is well in himself and feeding should fade in the next few days

DustyLee123 · 15/07/2023 21:25

It’s probably a sweat rash. Does he need a moisturiser ? I never used it. Be careful of using too many products.
If you think it might be an allergy to the soap powder etc, stop the conditioner and swap to something like Ecover.
Are you breast feeding ?

Abby90 · 15/07/2023 21:25

I'm hoping so. He got them on Wednesday so I'll give it til Monday and if nothing changes I'll take him to see his dr.

He only gets the two products, Aveeno bath soap & Aveeno moisturiser. Never had any issues before.

I thought it could be a sweat rash with the area it's in, like either side of his tummy, which is where he is held.

If nothing changes I will try changing his comfort and not use his bath products.

It's not irritating him when I touch it so he's obviously fine. It's just odd

And no, I'm not breastfeeding anymore. I stopped producing around 10 weeks.

My DD had this and is absolutely fine. Im afraid I don't have any explanation for you beyond it faded and never seemed to cause her any issues!

Both my babies have occasionally got little marks or rashes on their skin in various places over the years. If it's not bothering them and they have no other symptoms then I didn't worry. Usually faded over a few days. Very common to get viral rashes

Abby90 · 15/07/2023 22:25

Thank you @muddlingthrou I thought I was going crazy.
