Orthodontist cost

My dd age 14 was at the dentist this morning and is being referred to a orthodontist in the next week ( not in uk)
Dentist gave me a choice of two orthodontists and I'm really worried my dd needs to get sorted but the cost is out of my pocket..I'm looking at 4,800€ to up to €8,000 depending on what is said/needed at consultation.
Consultation is €120 alone, both orthodontists do a treatment plan with a lump sum upfront and then monthly payments over 12-18 months of a hefty figure
I'm struggling as it is like everyone else with energy costs etc, I'm not entitled to any help and there's no free treatment here
I absolutely have to get it done for my dd but omg I'm worried and embarrassed that I'm telling the dentist how hard it will be for me to find the money

Just a rant really the cost is astronomical is it the same now in the uk for kids under 16

We are in Belfast - our orthodontist was saying that lots of families from southern Ireland are now travelling up here and to Newry etc as costs are quite a bit lower. DD’s initial consultation was £100, then the braces (we went for Invisalign, regular ones would be significantly cheaper - around £2k) were £4000, absolutely everything included. Definitely worth thinking about. I can PM you orthodontist recommendations if need be, ours was fabulous
