Stomach pain and vomiting

Hello 👋🏼
My daughter is 6 years old and in may our whole house caught a sickness bug.. ever since my daughter has complained of an extremely sore stomach. This happens at random times of the day and regardless of where we are and what she's doing at the time. She has also randomly been sick once every 3 to 5 days only once each time and in the middle of the night. She wakes up and is sick then is completely fine and goes back to sleep.
I have took her to the GP who say they aren't concerned they had a feel of her stomach and tested her urine. They said when children complain of sore stomachs it could be anything.
But something isn't sitting right with me I don't think this is normal at all.
I'm looking for any advice or if anyone has came across anything similar?
Thanks 😊

My DD (same age) was
very ill end of last year with a stomach bug we all had + a uti and what turned out to be camphylobacter which was knly
diagnosed
after she got more
poorly than better and ended up in hospital where they finally worked out what was making her so Ill.
im not at all saying your DD had anything more than a run of your milk stomach bug but here’s the relevant part-
for weeks - months after it she had a sore tummy and nausea and we were back and forth to GP who said that post a bad gastro big children can have inflamed lymph nodes in their stomach which really hurt and can also develop an intolerance they didn’t have before the bug.
we are now 6
months on and only now would I say she’s “better”. I still feel anxious if she says her tummy hurts but it’s few and far between finally so I’d say give it a bit longer with your DD and maybe cut out dairy / lactose and see if it helps at all. If no other symptoms and GP says urine clear etc and it’s only happened since the bug id say it will be similar to our experience. Sending mama bear hugs xx

Argh I’m tired and so many typos. Sorry.

  • only diagnosed, not knly
  • run of mill, not milk
  • post gastro bug, not big

My DD was the same - she had a horrible vomiting bug that then turned into horrendous stomach pains. After 13 months of this, the GP finally agreed to do a blood test - turns out DD was coeliac and it had been dormant until the stomach bug had set it off. Is there a history of coeliac disease in your family? Also, your DD could have a swollen lymph node in her stomach which is causing the pain - this was the case for my niece and she had an ultrasound to confirm this was the case. Hope your DD gets better soon x
