Chicken pox scars

Hi,
My DD age 2.5 had chicken pox a month ago. She is left with some indented/red marks on her forehead. I didn’t think much of it then was told today by someone today that ‘those craters will scar’.

Any ideas on whether they will or anything to do about them?

my daughter had six very deep
craters on her temple and many more on her forehead. They have improved somewhat over the years. Some have flattened out a lot, but they are still visible but are getting better over time. It’s been 9years since she had chicken pox at 2 yrs old. Try not to worry, one crater won’t be very visible in 12 months, they flatten lots and turn skin colour.

Hi @LoudFox .. I completely get your worry over this.. been there and still some days feel it. But I can assure you they do get better. They fill in and turn to skin colour but it takes time. My DD is nearly a year in and they are still visible but improved so much.
I was skeptical of the silicone gel but I do think it did work. It certainly made me feel better anyway thinking that I was helping.
I moisturised/massage whenever I could too. Other than that, usual advice to keep up the suncream. I found a silicone gel with SPF in it- I think it was called kelo-cote on Amazon.

@Missmiller @LilyPad150
Thank you so much for your replies ladies, I really appreciate. Noone seem to understand the worry and pain I feel about this, it has really gotten me down.
All three of my girls have several facial scars, although the one pictured above is the worst.
They have several craters on their torsos aswell, which does not help, but the face bothers me the most obviously.
The guilt for not being proactive and getting them vaccinated is really getting me down, but it is too late now…
It is so hard finding information about this, everyones kids around me who got CP seems to have sailed thru with few lesions/no scars.
Finding this thread and seeing some before/after pictures with improvement have made me feel a little bit less alone and better.
Hope both your daughters are doing well, and that things keep improving for all of us🙏🏻
