MMR vaccine rash? and low temp of 35.5 at night - PLEASE SEE PICS

Hi everyone.

I‘m seeing the GP this afternoon but I’m panicking in the meantime and so if anyone has experienced this after their child’s 1st year jabs please can you let me have your thoughts.

My LO had his 1st year jabs 10 days ago. He had a fever the next day (expected) and then he had a high fever on Thursday just gone and lasted for 3 days (Sat). Yesterday morning (11 days since having his jabs) I noticed that he had these red spots on his chest and groin area (please see picture). They fade when pressed. This morning, the rash had spread to the whole of his body and face and ears (please see second and third pic).

Yesterday night I took his temperature and it was 35.1/35.5 - but when he woke up it was back to normal at 36.6. I'm freaking out about the low temp too (not sure if the low temp is because he's just got over a fever?)

is this normal? The nurse did not say anything about a rash appearing but on the NHS website it does say that children may get a rash.

Does the rash in the pictures look like measles rash?

thank you so much in advance, just really worried :(

Yes a rash 10-14 days after is normal, all of mine had that.

@YomAsalYomBasal thank you. Can you remember how many days the rash lasted? Did it go away in few days. Did your little ones also experience the low temp of 35.5 as well after the fever?

If I ever take my DC temperature when they are in deep sleep it's usually around 35.5. I think body temp drops while you're asleep.

Do check with GP if you're worried though.

The rash can look a bit alarming at first but it was gone by 48 hours later if I remember correctly.
A lower temperature is normal at night, it's one way our bodies induce sleep. If you took his temp on any other night I expect you'd find it's about the same.

Many thanks for your replies @YomAsalYomBasal @ininhhggb

Just came back from doctors and they said that the rash was ‘viral’ and doesn’t look like measles. I’m not sure if she was deliberately saying that it was connection to the MMR vaccine as she kept saying it’s viral.

she also didn’t have any comments on if my little one’s temp of 35.5 at night is worrying or not. Don’t know what to make of it :(

Does anyone else think the rash is to do with the vaccine?

Can be but should go after 2 to 3 days if it doesn’t perhaps something else? Long as temperature is ok now he’s well in himself I’d see how he is but if you’re worried absolutely get him seen again

My children both came out in rash after vaccine, completely covered by it, I think its said in the leaflet we were given it was a possible thing that can happen.
