Lingering Bad Chest

Looking for some advice, not sure what to do. My 4yo came down with a chest infection 10 days ago, high temp, coughing, doctor could hear a crackle across her chest so prescribed 5 days antibiotics. Great, temp has let up, she is much happier, but since finishing the antibiotics 5 days ago, she still has an awful chesty cough, and it appears she can't hear very well, she is constantly asking me to repeat what I've said.

With the cough still being terrible, would you be tempted to have her checked over again or, on the basis that she is fine in herself and no temp, just put it down to the cough lingering?

Don't want to waste NHS time unnecessarily

Yes I'd take her back without question. It's not wasting NHS time to take an ill child to get healthcare that she needs.

Saw a GP yesterday who was happy the crackle had gone from chest, and lack of hearing down to inflammation. Cough and hearing situation is worse this morning, what to do?

Is she getting plenty of rest, fluid and eating? Any temperature or other symptoms?

Coughs are not something I would usually ask to be checked again just yet, they do take time to clear, this page has info https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/baby/health/colds-coughs-and-ear-infections-in-children/

Re. the hearing, what did the GP mean by 'inflammation' - could they see something or do they just mean blocked tubes? Blocked ears are also common after colds, do you think it is something different to this? The page also says something about hearing loss/ear infections.

The caveat to EVERYTHING is if you feel genuinely worried something is wrong, then get rechecked.
