What could this be?

Toddler DD woke up this morning with this spot in her armpit - it looks like a pimple with a white head on it. Doesn't have it anywhere else just in her armpit, thought could be chicken pox but no other spots have popped up.

Mollescum warts. Bloody things are a nightmare and not a lot you can do about them until the body kicks starts itself and fights them off.

Or it could just be a spot.

Mosquito bite?

When I was a kid I had one spot chicken pox, so it is possibly that.

If it us thus you need to pop a few with a needle, get the white bit out, put a plaster on to stop the spread, popping them kick starts the body into a response and then they should dissappear. The reason they take so long without doing this is that the body us perfectly happy to have them and us in hurry to heal, popping then reminds the body that to fight them off.

*is in no hurry! Sorry about all the typos.

Does that work?!

BusterGonad · 15/06/2023 10:24

Yes. My son had it and as soon as I discovered the spots I started popping a few. He hates it so I didn't manage to get many. His body then went into to defence mode and they were gone in a matter of weeks. Obviously make sure that the needle is clean and always apply plasters as they are extra contagious when the skin is broken.

Just to add, I'm not a medical professional, but I have read what's worked for other mums etc.
