I have written about my 17 year old son before. He has been off school with suspected post viral (similar to glandular fever) since feb half term. Main symptoms are ongoing headaches and fatigue (with some brain fog). The headaches get worse with concentration, which is why he hasn’t made it back to school.

Eyes have been checked and keratoconus diagnosed by ophthalmologist. But this is unlikely the cause of the headaches. Ophthalmologist checked his optic nerve and no sign of pressure from increased cranial pressure.

That was really just for context, what is puzzling me is every so often (maybe once a fortnight or a little less) he will get a temperature, normally low 38s. Last about a day maybe a day and a half and then goes down again. As expected he feels pretty rotten on those days.

Does occasional temperatures fit with post-viral? Anyone have experience of something similar?
