14 year old boy, always tired

My son aged 14 (very nearly 15) is constantly complaining he's tired. Whether he's just woken up in the morning or done a whole day at school he's moaning he's tired. He also says he's lightheaded in the morning when he wakes up. No excessive thirst, no excessive urinating. Normal healthy diet and plenty of exercise. Bed time of 10pm during the week, 11pm at weekend and generally sticks with it.

Have made a GP appointment but routine appointments are fully booked for ages so looking at mid June.

Any ideas what it could be?

Thanks

Could he be anemic? Does he have a good diet? Not vegan or vegetarian

Not veggie or vegan but dislikes red meat. Eats fish, chicken and pork though. Takes a daily multivitamin. Eats a reasonable amount of fruit and veg too though like any teen likes the junk though we limit this

Vitamin D?

I was feeling constantly tired, and started taking high level of vitamin D and have felt much better.

I agree with @MargaretThursday it could be vitamin D given the time of year. It could also be one of many vitamins like B12, hard to say without a blood test. If you’re not struggling financially, a blood test service called Thriva could be good to try for him, it gives you a full rundown of nutrients you may not be getting enough if or too much. Although it is quite expensive, the benefit over a regular NHS blood test is that the NHS only tell you what stands out significantly, otherwise they won’t say.

It could also be bad blood circulation too maybe, it’s hard to say.

Could it be worth calling gp and asking if they'd refer for blood tests in interim. Did the tiredness start after a virus? I'm lightheaded when I get up now (post covid) - blood pressure drops for some reason, rather than rises when I go from lying down to getting up. Doing it extra slowly helps me with dizziness/light headedness a bit.
