7-month-old sleeping heart rate - too low?

I have an Owlet Smart Sock for my 7.5-month-old which he wears at night.

Since he’s got a bit older, his average sleeping heart rate is around 110 bpm, which seems about right to me.

Recently he had a virus and fever, and his sleeping heart rate was higher during that time as I’d expect.

However, since recovering, his sleeping heart rate has been significantly lower than it was beforehand. The average is now often less than 100 bpm, and sometimes it drops into the 70s for a while.

It just seems strange to me that his heart rate would suddenly become so much lower. Is it too low? Could the virus have damaged his heart somehow?

I will speak to the GP, but just wondering what others thought.

@Skybluepinky I will, as I said in my post, I was just wondering if anybody had experienced anything similar.

My daughter is the same on the owlet but she's 20 months. She spent 6 days in hospital and has now been home a week. Last night was the first night that it seems to have gone back up to about 110 average.. Still dropped to high 90s last night but more like her normal. I'm assuming she is just so recovering.

I literally have this same issue right now! He’s been so poorly still abit poorly now and he’s heart rate is sitting low. Compared to usual prior to being unwell

Why are you monitoring this?

Excessive monitoring can be anxiety-causing, unless you've been advised to do it for medical reasons.

I just feel better knowing that an alarm will go off if anything is wrong.

I think I’d be awake half the night checking on him otherwise, especially when he’s ill.
