Blood in daughters poo!! How worried should I be?

My 11 month old had quite a bit of blood in her poo earlier... she has been struggling to go the last week or so and cries when she does, could the blood just be from constipation?

It could well be, she may have a little fissure from where she’s been straining to poo. Always best to ask a GP though or try 101.

Thank you, I'll phone our GP Monday morning just a bit worried about it :(

Probably a fissure, happens commonly in little ones with constipation. Worth a mention to your GP but don't be worried, they may prescribe some laxative so it doesn't happen again.

I'd call 111 now. If its a fissure you can normally see these when carefully looking on changing her nappy but if its quite a bit I'd call 111 now.
My daughter had it last week. Just turned 1yr old. I called 111 She got sent to urgent care and waiting for an urgent paeds appointment to see what caused it as she didn't have fissures.

Did your daughter have any other symptoms? I hope she's ok now

My 6yo has this regularly with constipation, has done for the last few years, always best to get checked out though

She'd been crying and struggling to pass her poo but she wasn't constipated. Her poo was pasty.

How's your little one doing?

This happened to my son and a doctor spotted a fissure that I hadn't seen.
