15 month old, fishy breath?

So my 15 month old has a fishy smell to her breath. She has not temperature, she does have a stuffy nose. It's been on and off smell for almost 5 months.
Has anyone else had this issue, she's booked in to see a pedestrian in the next 2 weeks in regards to an ongoing cough she's had so I'm going to bring it up then. Has anyone else had this problem with their child?

Is it definitely her breath? I knew a child who had an enzyme disorder that meant she couldn't break down certain foods very well resulting in a fishy smell. It wasn't specifically her breath though.

She was otherwise healthy and well.

Definitely worth mentioning to the paediatrician any way.

Check they haven't put something up their nose. My toddler put a tiny little pom pom from a Xmas decoration up her nose and the first sign was the smell Envy. It was a bad smell, maybe a bit fishy/rotten meat.

Ha! That's probably a way more likely scenario. If it is that you need to come back and update as to what the foreign object was!

Something up her nose? My kid's friend shoved a pea up there and by the the time it was found she lost her smell forever

Yes, sometime it can be her faeces but that's been maybe one or twice in the 5 months that she's had this smelly breath.
Although the smell is on and off with her breath when it's there it's a very distinct smell almost as if she's had fish fillets (and she's hasn't) rather than a really foul smell of fish.

Nothing up her nose of what I can see, however she's very stuffy and does have a very blocked nose right now

Hi! Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have the exact same with my 15 month old!
