My Dd was 14 when she had surgery to remove an adult eye tooth that was now lying the wrong way on the roots of the front teeth.

She was last due to being the oldest but she was in good spirits and she was so funny when she came round. She ate and we got home by 6pm. I was more stressed than I let on.

Recovery was ok bar a slight infection but the clinic that referred her saw her and gave her treatment quickly.

Shes about to undergo jaw surgery so it gave her an idea of being ok. Hope all goes well.

I had teeth removed under general in my teens. I was up and about within 20 minutes and went shopping and to McDonald's for lunch. It was the best day off school.

Aw Thankyou so much for the reassurance, my child has the same problem as yours , the orthodontist thought they could attach a chain to encourage the tooth to come down but sadly it’s too horizontal. Did your child keep the milk tooth ?

My child us last on the list tomorrow as well , we have to be at the hospital by 7am .

My son has had this twice, he was absolutely fine and I think it only took about 15/20 minutes each time. Sleepy afterwards but felt fine within a couple of hours.

Wow Thankyou Amersham fc you did well .
tbh I was worried about the after effects as she’ll have stitches in her mouth

Hi , so my child had the impacted canine removed today with one milk tooth
They made the incision underneath her top lip so consequently her top lip is very swollen she taken down to theatre at 12.45 and was taken back to the ward at an hour later which was ok
However her nose wouldn’t stop bleeding I was expecting a consultant to come and see how she was and if we had any questions but this didn’t happen

There was two other children that were admitted at the same time who came in had their procedure and left
apparently when I went with the nurse to see my child in recovery the consultant had done their rounds and wouldn’t return

I find this appalling I did receive a call this evening while I was struggling to get into a taxi with my child so questions went clean out of my head . Also one side of my child’s chin and top lip is still numb I’m not sure this is normal

Im so angry and worried 😟

@misspigg87 That doesn’t sound good at all. My Dd felt numb until about bedtime. She then slept all night after eating a lot of Chinese as she was so hungry. Did they give you any info about clinics or whatever that you can phone tomorrow?

Frostytiger87 · 11/03/2023 16:39

Hi misspig87, they didn’t give me any guidance atall I was livid . The numbness had gone thank goodness by the morning .
i emailed the oral team expressing my concerns and a dr called me back and was able to answer my concerns but this really isn’t good enough .

My Childs orthodontist phoned yesterday they would like to start the next step of treatment in 2-3 weeks to fit an expander , at the moment my child isn’t even thinking that far ahead as she still has bruising and swelling & has difficulty eating .
