8mo screaming constantly for 9 days

I don’t really know what I’m asking here, but I feel like I'm at the end of my tether. My daughter will be 8 months next week and hasn’t started screaming for 90% of her awake time for the past 9 days. Last Friday she was in hospital with covid (not admitted, all resolved with paracetamol suppositories) but she has been well from an illness perspective since last Sunday.

She’s been grumpy in the past, but never to this level. She CAN stop crying, but only if she has the tv on and is helped to stand. In literally zero other scenario. Bizarrely she is sleeping fine. I tried paracetamol as I wondered if she had pain somewhere, but it didn’t seem to help.

what can I do?! I’m worried she’s unwell in some way but can’t tell me. I also think I’m going to go insane with my husband out at work and her screaming for 12 hours while I’m on my own. Can you take a baby to the doctor with the only symptom as crying?!

If its a new symptom, sounds like it, I would take her to the doctor, just to get checked over. Also, just thinking that dhe drill may be feeling "off" from the covid? Unfortunately her way of telling you is through screaming.

Sorry for the typos! Meant to say that she may be still feeling not quite right after covid

Yes! It's well outside her normal behaviour and something is causing the crying. She needs looking at.

Oh dear, it sounds so exhausting and miserable for both of you! I think you'd be very justified to take her to a doctor as this is not her normal behaviour and her needs are all met. Could it be lingering effects of COVID or maybe its gone to her ears? Definitely get her checked over. In the meantime, is there someone else who can spend some time with her to give you a break? 9 days is a long time. I think you’d definitely be within your rights to get her checked out.
