Can a toddler vomit once and be fine?

Toddler came home from nursery with no appetite and complaining of a stomach ache. Went up to start bedtime then had a huge vom.

Now saying they feel fine and no other symptoms.. is it wishful thinking to think that maybe it was a one off? I don't think I can handle a vomit bug right now, we have literally just waved goodbye to chickenpox 😫😫😫😫

I would say that about 50% of the times my kids are sick (not including travel sickness) it’s a one off and there are no other symptoms. Fingers crossed for you.

Mum of four- mine usually would vomit once and then insist on eating copious amounts as if to make up for the lost stomach contents. Always very annoying keeping them at home for 48 hrs.
Very rarely were they sick twice or more.

Mine did this once and was absolutely fine- we had a play date and that kid then started vomiting, so careful on mixing.

Yep this has happened to my daughter on more than one occasion.

on tbe flip side, we’ve also had vomit first thing Monday, seemingly fine til Thursday (but off childcare still waiting for Covid test result) when further vomit started 🤷‍♀️

Arghhh thanks all. Currently asleep and no further vom but I'm so on edge 😭

I collected one of mine from school last week they vomited. They weren’t sick again and no one else got it. Just one of those things.

My LO did this one Monday night, just one vomit, was then fine.
on Tuesday evening I started vomiting for 24 hours, by Thursday it’d taken my husband down and his Nan too 🫠(who’d looked after him on the Tuesday)

My DS did this regularly from the age of 18 months/two years. At age 9 he was finally diagnosed with migraines.
