Lack of circulation to mark on baby’s back?

My baby is 8 week old and since he was born he’s had a mark on his lower left back, a discolouration mark that usually is very white compared to rest of his back. The midwife on day 1 said it was where his nappy is, then weeks later after no change the health visitor said it was a birth mark. I took him to the dr to be safe and he said it was a mark where blood wasn’t really getting to and mentioned the word micro vascular. He then saw him today a week later upon his request and said it’s not changing so he’s not worried. But surely there must be a reason why just this one skin patch? Seem a bit let down by dr as there is no explanation or even what it is really. The picture I’ve got on my phone is after a bath so it looks more purple but usually it’s mostly just very white. Wondering if anyone has had anything similar with your little ones?

thank you in advance

My youngest had this and it turned out to be a strawberry mark. It started out white then gradually “grew”.
It got quite large and puffy but over time it has gradually reduced in size and is fading.

PS it was never described to me quite in the same way as you are saying that it was to you, but it is to do with blood vessels.

NotAllWhoWanderAreLost thank you for your quick reply , that makes me feel a little better. Especially as you say it is fading , I’m a ftm and get very worried. It is mostly white but sometimes looks like the picture attached

Not the best photos, but it could be a Mongolian blue spot/slate grey nevus?
