I used to clean my children's teeth up to the age of 10 without any dental problems. At the recent general check up the dentist referred my child to have a dental hygiene treatment for about third time now.
The check ups are free on NHS but they charge me for the hygienist standard adult fees. How do parents cope with that nowadays with the cost of living crisis?
It’s not for cosmetic reasons that the treatment is necessary when charging fees might be justified. The treatment is clinically necessary to achieve oral health.
Shouldn’t that be free for a child? Or at least at NHS cost (£23.80) I.e. a third of a private patient cost!
