Fussy eating

For the last few months my toddler has become extremely fussy! We started giving him vitamins but these are the things he eats:
Raisins
Bananas
Tangerines
Blueberries
Cheerios
Weetabix with half a teaspoon of manuka honey
Full fat yogurt with a teaspoon of manuka honey and his vitamins
Porridge with manuka
Peanut butter with mushed banana
He'll sometimes eat healthy oat bars i make (oats peanut butter and bananas)
Sometimes brown toast with butter
And white buns

He's gone off all veg, meat, cheese and any hot foods. In nursery he'll pick at his food and just eat bananas there

Is anyone else going through something similar?

Many toddlers have a phase where they only want to eat a few different foods. My child is still too young, but his bigger cousins all had such phases. By now, they are all at least 12 years old and eating pretty normally again.

I know that on the one hand you should make sure that children eat enough. On the other hand, it seems to make sense to continue cooking normally as before, so that the child is stimulated to eat normally.

Is your child healthy and fit? Has he gained or lost weight in the last few months?

how old?
DS is like 14 (years not months) & not sure he eats that diversity.
So doesn't look bad to me.

They all go through fussy phases, try not to obsess and continue offering a wide range of foods. Put food you know will be eaten alongside other food you are cooking for yourself. Don’t comment on what is eaten, just clear away when he is done. If you keep offering he will eventually eat more variety.

Thanks everyone! He's a very happy and healthy baby! Gets sick a lot but I think that's normal! He's 18 months. We just give him what he likes and then offer what we are having on the side. I'll keep perceveiring!

I forgot to mention! He also has a little bit of calculus buildup up behind his bottom front teeth. He makes it impossible to brush his teeth but we keep trying

How much milk does he have @Dd234 and what kind? Just asking as sometimes that can affect appetite.

What happens if he refuses a meal? Do you clear away and do something else or does he get alternatives?

As for the teeth, could you make it into a game? I used to pretend that the DC's teeth made farmyard noises and we had to keep brushing until we found the pig.

Hey! He doesn't really drink milk. He has it with his weetabix for breakfast and then has 125g of yogurt for a snack and then dinner he'll have weetabix with milk. I'm not too sure how much I put in though

More or less the same as what my son would eat.

How long has he been at nursery?
It took my son 2 month to eat a meal there 🙈 now he'll eat everything.

They do come out the other side.
I used to always offer what we were having with 1/2 things on the plate I knew he would eat.
