Hi I’m massively struggling, I have a beautiful 3 year old boy, who isn’t talking, still in pads. I feel he has adhd, as do the hearing people n his doctors. Dad is struggling coming to terms with it. Our beautiful son has been kicked out of primary school at 3, after only two days as they cudnt cope, he is now in a day nursery. We have been told by Trafford there is no funding for speech n language. Does anyone here no of any good councils or have any advice. We are going to write to the mp. I hate the thought of letting my son down

Hi, my little boy is three and also autistic. Hand hold from me. Although he is completely non-verbal and I would go so far as to say completely silent, he is so settled and I do think this is due to us meeting his needs. I'm lucky that I'm a teacher so have knowledge of a little of this area.

Why has he been kicked out? What behaviour is he displaying? How is he at home?

My area has been shocking for "support". We did have a health visitor who did a neurodevelopmental referral and we had a diagnosis within 18 months. We were lucky with this. Speech and language non existent. Portage non existent. Three referrals to occupational therapy have come to nothing. We had six sessions of PECs which actually has really helped.

Genuinely, the only thing that has helped is understanding his needs and meeting them. And being flexible and changing what we do as he changes every week!

Happy to chat or answer any questions.
