Lump in mouth - calling doctors tomorrow.

I just noticed by chance before teeth brushing tonight, my 6 year old has a large lump under his tongue. On his left hand side. He says there is no pain.

I'm calling the doctors tomorrow to get it checked out.

Anyone have any idea what it possibly can be? Since being ill in December, he has had increased saliva and swallows a lot more.

It is right next to the saliva gland.

Could be a ranula - fluid-filled swelling from the gland that makes saliva, can be cause by mini injuries within the mouth (bite, brushing). Tend to sort themselves out.

Thank you. It does seem fluid filled.

Hi- dentist here : it looks like a ranula - they can be annoying and can be removed if necessary but generally go down on their own- they do look very odd don’t they; I’d see your dentist instead?

No idea, sorry, but you might be better off with the dentist trip for something mouth related.

Thank you everyone. I'll call the dentist tomorrow.
