See photo! In some ways it doesn't seem to fit - for example age - ds is 16! But in others yes - especially as both dd and ds have it. Will try and get hold of gp tomorrow but is there anything I can do now?

Looks like it to me.
You can get it at any age, it’s very contagious,
just more common in children because they’re always touching everything.

DottyLS · 02/01/2023 10:50

Just to add, not hurting or itching

Speak to a pharmacist? They will tell you what to do?

DottyLS · 02/01/2023 10:52

Weird thing is we took him to a pharmacist Friday and they were just baffled and said try hydrocortisone cream, which I now read you shouldn't use

And dd (19) sent photos of hers to gp who also said steroid cream?

I would find out what it is before trying random creams, you may thinks it's OK but it could make it worse

Not having a go, speaking from experience

DottyLS · 02/01/2023 10:57

I know what you mean, I'm just so surprised that neither gp nor pharmacist were able to identify it and jusf said steroid cream.

Looks like it

DH was hospitalised with it at 39 😱

I have random things appear so went to doctors and they swabbed and they sent it of to pathology and I found out what it was but have now forgotten the name!

But they gave me the right cream last time it happened

DottyLS · 02/01/2023 11:01

Hospitalised!? Why, what happened??

OP posts:
minmooch · 02/01/2023 11:05

Shingles?

DottyLS · 02/01/2023 11:08

Considered that as well but again wouldn't/shouldn't pharmacist or gp have been able to diagnose that?

Dd has had a month of being ill, sore throat and fever first, then gastric... wondered if it's all related?

That looks v nasty

I would def call the GP back and ask for another appointment especially if the hydrocortisone isn't working

It does look like impetigo but I'm not a medical person - I definitely would get it seen
