My daughter has woken up with a blocked nose. But she seems to have a spot/blister under her nose and it's complaining it's painful. Seems fine in herself. No temperature or anything. Does you think I should get this checked out considering strep A? Didn't want to use 111 or gp services when I'm not sure it's considered urgent. I'm thinking to take her to the local pharmacy so they can have a look.

Would you be concerned about this ?

I wouldn't worry. I'd stick a bit of germolene on it.

Right thank you! Feeling a bit anxious over this Strep A stuff so wasn't sure if calling the gp was a step too far. Clearly is !

I think yes, GP for a spot and a blocked nose is OTT. Watch and wait. Good luck!

Looks like it could be the beginnings of impetigo so I would be a little bit concerned. I’m not sure what the current advice is on that as it’s step A isn’t it? I’d call your GP and ask for advice.

@Orangesatsuma yes that was my concern

It’s hard to tell from the picture but yeah I’ve had it before and it’s really common around the nose. If it doesn’t feel like a normal spot and looks blistery definitely get it checked out - pharmacist is a good idea. It’s super contagious so if that’s what it is then even if your dc is okay you could be spreading it to others who might not be.

No. Wouldn't be concerned at all right now.. especially with just one spot. Unless there's more that come up or she develops a temperature I wouldn't even suggest impetigo or anything to put the frighteners in you.

Do as you feel comfortable with though if you're concerned.

That doesn't look like impetigo I had it as a child, it's more scabby than spotty.

She's probably rubbed her nose a lot from the runny nose and so caused a spot to form.

Could be the start of HFM but I wouldn't be overly concerned. Just see how she goes the next couple of days.
