Antibiotics shortage

DD got diagnosed with tonsillitis today and the doctor prescribed antibiotics. We have been to every pharmacy near us and they have all run out. We are North West. Any advice about what to do? Can she wait until tomorrow and we will search again? Or should I be finding somewhere tonight? Waiting back on a 111 callback for advice.

Ok so it’s the suspension there’s a shortage of. Obviously not good but I can see that tablets are a viable alternative for older children at least. @jhdvnktd yes I’ve read the thread. But things appear to be changing rapidly with this situation hence I was asking for first hand experiences from a dr or pharmacist. I have an already Ill child hence my worry, I’m the first to admit I worry about my kids’ health. Just trying to ascertain what the situation is but it sounds as if the suspension is in short supply but (hopefully) not pill format of the same or similar drugs.
