Waiting for a callback from 111 although I called them at 11am and they said it could take 14 hours.. DD has had a rash/this on her belly for about a week and has had a temperature around 39 for the last 3 days. As soon as calpol and nurofen is out of her system her temp shoots back up and she says her body hurts and becomes very upset also tells me she's freezing even though she's burning up. Obviously with the amount of scarlet fever around im now worrying.. maybe unnecessarily. Has anyones child ever had a rash like this and what was it please.. it itches her and feels like sandpaper. No changes in the house or allergen wise.

@DogBedTalk

I remember scarlet fever going around my school as a child, my friend and her dd had it a few years ago too, it's definitely one of those conditions that is there in the background - you can catch the strep a infection and get a mild sore throat or get no symptoms at all, some people fight it off easily. My dd had impetigo this is caused by the same bacterium.

@Remmy123 shes had sepsis twice and nearly died. The a and e dr has told me go go straight back if she doesn't start tonimprove. It isn't just a rash you can't see or I wouldn't of gone. Were on day 5 of a temperature that's hard to get under control, shes not herself, shes fine one minute and screaming in pain the next. Shes 3 years old and the only way to get medical care was to go to a and e. I dont actually care if that wasn't the right thing to do it was the only way she could see a dr and start the treatment she needed. I will be going back if I need to as told to by the dr. Shes at risk of sepsis as the infection could go to her blood and having this twice previously makes it more dangerous for her. Sorry if that annoys you.

Bit of a drip feed here as no mention of previous sepsis in other posts. Understand now why you're so worried and I'm glad you've got the help you needed. A&E sounds like a nightmare. Hope your little one improves soon.

It was hardly a drip feed, she doesn’t have to tell the internet her DD’s full medical history, we aren’t doctors. She was perfectly reasonable seeking medical attention why are people so ridiculous about the NHS. It’s not fit for purpose, it doesn’t mean you should leave your children at home suffering just so you don’t inconvenience anyone.

paradyning · 05/12/2022 08:40

Not a drip feed at all. Have you not rtft?

Hope she's ok op soon

@Onedayatatime22 she did mention sepsis before actually in one of her posts

@insheerpanic Hope she's on the mend now. You were totally right to do this given her history.

Onedayatatime22 · 05/12/2022 08:45

In that case I apologise
