Baby’s forehead

Hi, I'm new here, just looking for advice/opinions. Firstly I just want to mention, I do suffer with anxiety and health anxiety. I'm a FTM and sometimes struggle with knowing if I'm being reasonable or just over anxious.
Please be kind x

I saw an article posted online my local newspaper, a mum from my town raising awareness of acute hydrocephalus, she mentioned symptoms of baby's growing forehead and episodes of sleepiness.

I've panicked myself now after reading different articles (I'm the worst) and got myself anxious over my son. He had a perfectly round head when he was born (we called him a little pea head 🥰) and now I'm not sure if he's just growing into his head shape or if it's something else. These articles have mentioned about a heavy brow ridge which his has. (I think?)

Here's a little bit about my son;
He is 5 months 12 days. Very alert, active little cherub, he is a chatterbox (babbles obviously) good coordination, sees his dummy picks up and pops in mouth, has had super strong legs from birth (nearly every HV, GP and MW mentioned at diff appointments) he can stand for good amount of time when we support him. He's EBF, feeds well 5/10 mins, fussy on one boob but otherwise no issues.

When he was 3 months old we had to go to the hospital as he became what we describe as unresponsive, he wouldn't wake properly and was very drowsy. It lasted 45 mins then went back to normal. Had blood tests done, all clear, docs sent home saying 'sometimes babies just don't want to wake up' not had anything similar since.

Sorry it's a long one and I know I probably sound nuts, just wanted some opinions if it's just me in an anxious state for nothing or if it's something I should take him to be checked for? Thank you so much if you've read to the end. Xx

I don’t know anything about this condition but just to say what a beautiful wee boy! Love the pumpkin pic!! He looks perfectly healthy to me but I’d say it’s worth chatting with the HV just for peace of mind, since this has come up for you.

He looks like a perfectly healthy, normal happy baby. Please get help and enjoy him like you both deserve ❤️

What a little sweetie

i have zero medical training but he looks perfectly normal to me, BUT you sjouke speak to your HV / dr at your next appt if concerned

just be aware also that this worry about nothing can be a sign of PND, if you have any other signs do get help for that too

Thank you, he's my world 🥰 I think I will mention it to HV for my own peace of mind. Ah, yes I do question whether I'm suffering with a bit of PNDz I've had anxiety since young childhood (convinced I was born with it 😣) so it's very hard to determine what's what.

I keep it under control as best as possible, hard to get help via GP as whenever I have I've felt the main solution suggested has been to go on meds, which isn't a road I want to go down as didn't help me last time!

Stop reading online articles of things that can go wrong with babies and children.

Your boy looks absolutely lovely and healthy.
