My 18 month old woke up this morning vomiting all over her cot Sad this is the third episode of sickness this year and EVERYTIME without fail I catch it too and it wipes me out for over 24 hours. I wash my hands constantly and take care when cleaning her and her clothes but it always gets me.

She's only been sick once so far and is her usual happy self this morning but I'm still on edge waiting for her to vom again. Last time she was sick it was just once and then she was fine (different story for me) but I'm praying that's the same again this time. Anyone else find when their LO is sick it's just the once and then they are fine? 🙏🏼

It's been almost 4 hours now since she was sick and she's just eaten some toast (was hungry) still very cheerful. Anyone want to fill me with some hope that it was just the once and it's over with now? Blush

Just sending sympathy as sick bugs are seriously anxiety inducing for me as I hate vomiting. I honestly wouldn't mind cleaning up DC's sick all day if I could be guaranteed that I wouldn't catch it, but the anticipation of knowing it will get me is horrible.

I hope the rest of the day was vomit free. But to answer your question, yes mine has sometimes only had the one vomit. Definitely bounces back way faster than me. Last couple of times I used a mask and didn't catch it (I think you can inadvertently inhale the particles if they are sick near you), and I also make sure not to touch food with my bare hands for a few days. Extreme I know, but it works!

also extreme, don't touch your face when there's a bug in the house, or touch food (from an exprienced emetophobe) Hard to maintain, but worth it, and yes I've been known to eat a bag of crisps with a spoon

@YourTruthorMine you are my people, I regularly eat crisps with a spoon too :)

I also do this when out and about. Just squeeze/drop any food out of the wrapper/bag directly into my mouth.

I usually end up covered in crumbs but at least I don't risk catching a vomiting bug:)
