Hi everyone!
My LO is 17 months. At his 12 month vaccines he took a particularly harsh reaction to the Men B. He’d reacted to this strongly at his 16 week jags too. Ping pong sized red, painful swelling that slowly faded into a bruise, which hung about for months. The 16 week one has left a dimple like indent in his thigh and it had a small lump for months that seems to be gone now.
I’ve just noticed that under the site of the Men B at the 12 months injection (same thing happened - swelling/faded to bruise which is still lightly there) there’s a pea sized lump that feels slightly larger than the one that was at the other site. It’s perfectly round and moves with my fingers, so all the hallmarks of ‘nothing serious’ but I’ll be taking him to GP next week about it anyway.
Just wondering if anyone else has had a vaccine nodule type thing and if it lasted as long as this? When I google it research papers do say that can persist for months, but NHS says they go away within a couple of weeks. My instinct is saying that as he had such a harsh reaction to the MenB jag that is shouldn’t be surprising that it’ll take a bit longer to fade, and he was kicking/thrashing during it which I know can impact where the needle enters.
Thanks in advance!
