DD 18 months has been sick everyday since Saturday. She's fine in herself, she had hand foot and mouth but that's long gone. Took her to doctors doctor said it was from the HFM and she was slightly dehydrated.
But every-time she eats food she's sick, and then back to normal, no tummy ache or anything that I can make out she just can't stomach food?
Going to go back to doctors Monday but how long is it normal for this to go on for?
She's drinking plenty and I've been giving her ice lollies for added fluids.
She wants to eat, she's mostly been living on toast and rice cakes as per doctors advice of plain foods.
I just don't know what to do next?

I’ve no experience to offer op but can you call 111? I would be a bit concerned if she’s not able to hold anything down at all since Sat. They’d be able to give you some proper advice. Hope she feels better soon! Xx

Hi @nogreenhello my son had something similar 6 months ago he was sick every day for 10 days he could not stomach food. He ended up in hospital on a drip he was so dehydrated. It was like he felt hungry and wanted food and milk but as soon as he ate it he threw up. They thought it was rotavirus my 3 year old had brought home from nursery (his only lasted a few days) but because my other son was younger he took it worse which is strange because he had been vaccinated for it. He was about 12/13 months. If it’s the same thing as long as she can keep some form of liquids down it should pass. It’s horrible seeing them sick. I hope she feels better soon.

Not a good night 3 times I had to change DD's bed through sickness
And DH was also sick
I have no idea what's going on
Both are fine this morning, have we caught a second bug?

Oh no @nogreenhello that’s a shame. Me and my husband never got theirs I felt sick for a day after my wee one threw up in my face 🙈! But wasn’t sick. I do remember it just dragged on I thought the same as you then all of a sudden stopped don’t hesitate to get her checked incase she is dehydrated, I nearly didn’t and my wee boys sugar levels were dangerously low x

My dd 9 went through about three weeks of sickness and diarrhoea. We all had it in the first week but she carried on. Tested her stools again in the third week ( tested in the first week but nothing was picked up) and she had norovirus. Not sure if she picked it up twice or it just hung around for ages.

More sickness Sad
Kept everything down all day and then sick again in the night
She has a dairy allergy anyway wondering if she's got an allergy to something else
Ate toast ricecakes pombears yesterday all plain foods
Also half a vegan sausage roll
Wondering if something in that will have to dig out packaging
Poor child wants to eat I'm worried how long she can go on a toast and rice cake diet
Doctors as soon as Monday rolls around
I thought about 111 but she's not poorly or dehydrated as far as I can tell
Drinking wet nappies etc
So not sure they will be of any help

Does she have diarrhea too, OP? All 3 of my kids had something similar recently. 2 year old was affected the worst. They only seemed to be sick during the night also and could be fine for a day or 2 with nothing and then it would come on again. With DS, aged 2, it lasted for about 2 weeks in total. The stool sample that the doctor sent off came back all clear which I found odd as we thought it was Rotavirus too. No advice other than to just to keep her hydrated really.

@nogreenhello oh dear what a shame. My 18 month old has been up also being sick since 4am now!! Must’ve something doing the rounds. I would call 111 even just to ask advice if they want to check her over it would do no harm. What they said happened to my wee boy was his sugar levels were very low (he’s not diabetic just from not eating enough) and it got him in a vicious cycle because that that made him feel sick as well he got a drip overnight and was so much better and stopped being sick. They told me sugary juice like flat cocoa cola or a sugary diluted juice you could try that see if it helps

So that's the strange thing, she did have Diarrhoea days ago
However DD bowels are always awful! It's what started us on our dairy free journey and we've been referred to hospital
However past couple of days her bowels have been the best we've ever seen 'normality' wise
Which again brings me back to food she must how an intolerance to something else but as she hasn't been eating much her bowels are better
I guess silver lining to this sickness

DS is/never was poorly so this is all new to us

Been to doctors again they have
no idea as she's well obs are fine
Not dehydrated
Said to try introducing food back
So have plated her up different types of fruit for lunch not sure if that's the right thing to do but trying to get some goodness into her
Maybe the vitamin C will make all the difference?
The also want a urine sample, gave me a little bag so will try to work that out later
