Hi all.

I'm not sure if this is a clear enough picture but my 2.5 year old now has all of his teeth - apart from one of the front (bottom) ones and doesn't seem to be any sign of it growing - the three teeth are oddly spaced out.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Did their child's adult teeth grow the same?

Last time he went to the dentist he was still teething so just assumed it would pop up at some point but now he has all of his teeth (even all the back ones) and no sign. I'm baffled Confused

Has he been seen by the Dentist and what did they say about it?

The front ones are nornally 1st to come through, what has the dentist said??

BeyondsEnergyObsession · 30/10/2022 10:31

Yep, my experience was that it's nothing to worry about. DS2 also had one of his bottom front baby teeth not come through. Dentist said that they would leave it til his adult teeth came though, and see if the adult one was missing too - if it was they could arrange a false one.

When his adult teeth came through, they were all there.

There are quite a few people in my family with either missing or extra teeth!

Toddler DS's teeth (he's 10 now).

In case it is relevant, he also has enamel hypoplasia

DS had a baby double tooth - and then when it fell out only 3 adult teeth have appeared. The dentist isnt bothered as allows for more space

Mine had this, three bottom teeth, all fell out and four adult ones grew in. Dentist wasn't concerned.

DS2 had similar - a top molar missing and on other side 2 fused. They won’t do anything about missing baby teeth, just wait and see is same happens with adult teeth and if necessary, get orthodontistry. It’s more common for adult teeth to be missing than baby teeth though. Lots of people miss an incisor but teeth can be pushed together and shaped to look ‘right’
